Figure in HTML Technology

According to [1]: A figure in HTML is a container for content such as an image, diagram, chart or an audio file that goes along within the main content of a webpage.

Typically this content is specified by using the figcaption element alongside the figure element. The figure, it's caption and its content are referenced as a single unit.

Examples of a Figure in HTML

The code would be typed like this "<figure> <img src = "worldcup.webp" alt = "The Fifa World Cup Trophy." <figcaption> The African Bush Elephant</figcaption>

But the reader would be shown this instead, where the figure is containing the image within the footer.

The Fifa World Cup Trophy.

What I learned from Figures in HTML

Using figures in HTML work taught me how to accordingly organize photos, audio or other pieces of content that may go within a website, into a "container" in a sense, but nesting these other elements inside of figure it helped me deepen the understand between the parent and child example that was reinforced within classroom lectures, and by using figure, it helps structure the website in a way that is easier to understand and clearer to read to the user.
